Second game of the season boys and we started like a rocket to be up 2 - 0 within 15 minutes. two great goals by MJ and Andrew. If only we can keep our shape, stay in our positions and then slow the game, not allowing ourselves to get too anxious. After the final whistle it was a loss at 4 - 2 but we can take a lot out of this game because there was some great passing and general play. We need to mark up and get behind the ball when we lose it, something we will work on. Player of the match, Ryan Bolgoff, well done mate, never stopped all game and played with a maturity I have not seen before. Round 4 Castle Hill 2 def OLOR 0
Well done to all the boys, what a difference a week makes and some hard work at training. You all should be proud of yourselves.
It was also good to have a full team and all the marking, positional play and passing drills we have been doing has paid off.
Shaun and Matt A kept a clean sheet in goals, and did well holding their positions, their job was made easier by some superb defence and tackling from Ryan Manns who was outstanding at fullback, the same with Laars, MJ, Ryan R and Lachlan. Ryan B was also great in the midfield, as were Andrew and our workhorse Mitch. Ben and Josh did a great job up front, Ben scoring 2 very good goals set up by our midfield. Player of the match was Sebastian, who was involved in everything and defended so well, nothing went past Sebastian today. Well done mate, keep it up.
Special mention also to Laars, Mitch and MJ. Great running fantastic work rate. Ben, great composure in front of goals, Josh great dribbling and passing.
What I saw today boys was enough to convince me that you can have a great season and play some fantastic football ( soccer ), just back yourselves, keep trying and don't lose that hunger.

Round 5 - Castle Hill 2 def Wenty Waratah 0
Well done again this week with another win. It took us until the second half to find our rhythm and start controlling the game. The first half saw a lot of panic on the ball and too many kicks up field without thinking. Once we found composure with the ball and started our passing game, we dominated for long periods of time.
The second half saw Lachlan move in as a third forward to give us extra width so we can start playing wide a lot more instead of up the middle all the time. Great to see Josh score to put us in front with some good lead up work from Ryan Mann's, Mitch and Ben. With about 15 minutes to go we saw Larrs push up into the midfield and score a memorable goal with a fantastic strike which left the opposition keeper wanting.
We missed many opportunities in front of goal and did not mark up at various times in defence, however we made the opportunities, kept trying and had moments of great play. Well done Sebastian, Sean, Ryan B, Ryan R, Andrew and MJ for a great attitude.
Man of the Match was Laars for is effort in defence and midfield, his composure on the ball and distribution was excellent. Keep up the great work Laars.

Round 6 - Castle Hill 4 Def Guildford 2
Another great win boys, it seems we have turned the corner, and just maybe learned how to tough it out. Lets build on this now and keep up all the hard work, and intensity. The game saw us fall behind then draw level and then fall behind again. The opposition goals were from our silly mistakes, so we must make sure we control the ball and not panic. As usual Mitch, Andrew, Sebastian and Lars put in great effort. Ryan Manns had another superb game at fullback, so did MJ, great tackles, scrambling defence and positional play. Shortly after half time we found our game and drew level again at 2 all. Then some outstanding play from Sean, Josh and Ryan R saw us score two memorable goals. Goal scorers were Ben, Lars, and Lachlan. Great finish and composure on the ball. I must say the last goal was spectacular, after going wide from Andrew, Josh twisted, dummied and then wrong footed three players to send Ben rocketing down field with a precision through ball. Even though the keeper came out and tried to trip Ben, he kept his balance and put it away with great composure. Matt A did well on the field and as goal keeper, keep up the good work Matt. Ryan B played with sickness and showed some great determination. Man of the match was all 13 players, but Ben received the trophy today for an outstanding contribution. Well done mate, many more goals to come if you keep working. Remember we made a promise after the game to keep going, keep working and putting in the hard yards. You have all done yourself proud today. Take care of that ankle Ryan R, you had a great day at centre back.

Round 7 - Castle Hill 1 Drew Lidcombe Waratah 1
Great game today boys against the undefeated competition leaders. The game started well, with the boys passing and moving well. A mad scramble in the goal mouth towards half time left the ball alone for Lidcombe to score, which shows the need for more intensity and safety in the box when defending.
We had some clear chances in the first 15 minutes and should have capitalised, but the opposition keeper was up for the challenge. Our shape and positional play remained in tact, and having no further real threats we pushed Lars into the middle and put Josh and Lachlan up front at different times with Ben. This had a great impact and we dominated for long periods of time. Some easier opportunities were missed only to set ourselves up and hit the ball directly to the keeper. We need to place the ball and keep composure during these situations. With 5 to go we pushed Ryan Manns up to forward who challenged well for the ball only to be pushed, and the result, a penalty. Lars stepped up like he had been doing this for 20 years and calmly slotted the equaliser. 30 seconds later, full time. If we would have had a few more minutes, we could have pushed forward even more and judging by the oppositions body language, may have come away with all three points. Ryan B, Sebastian, Andrew, Mitch, Sean, Ryan R, Lars and Ryan M had outstanding games, Ben, Josh and Lachlan ran hard and did well against some organised defence. Matt A was fantastic in goals and looked safe all game. Player of the week was Matt J for his outstanding effort in both attack and defence. MJ played out of position at Fullback and kept his head and delivered some great passing, crosses and tackles. Well done mate, a well deserved award. Lets keep going boys, we could have won today, it is those little things that make the difference, the pass, the ball control, the shots. We now have the momentum, spark and enthusiasm to improve further.
A big thanks also to all the parents who are showing up to support the boys and helping with all the goings on of our team.

Round 8 Castle Hill 2 Defeated Kellyville 0
Good win boys in slippery conditions. The first half ended nil all with some great moves and through balls, we were unlucky not to score a few times. The Kellyville keeper was on his game and pulled off some good saves "but" we are still shooting at the keeper, placing the ball to the left or right is usually a better option.
There was a lapse in concentration for about 5 minutes, which led to some silly play and resulted in a penalty to Kellyville. Luckily they hit the ball over the bar and from that moment we seemed to take control.
It was great to see Andrew work so hard in midfield without his partner Mitch who did not play because he was sick. Sebastian had another fine game at the back and as captain, Matt A looked safe at keeper, Sean had one of his best games yet, Lars looked comfortable in the halves, Ryan M, MJ, Ryan R, Ryan B did some great work on the ball and scrambled well in defence. Josh created some good chances after being sick all week, well done Josh. Player of the week was Lachlan, his speed, determination and skill helped him score a fine goal to put us ahead 1 nil. Lachlans work rate and superb running game caused the opposition headaches all game. Fantastic effort mate, we all hope we see that each week.
Ben finished off with a great individual effort making it 2 nil after being denied a few times, keep up the good work Ben, you have the speed, determination and skill to rip holes in the opposition defence.
Another good performance boys, lets keep it going.

Castle Hill 1 defeated Winston Hills 0
Great game boys, you kept your composure and kept trying against a very committed defence. It was pleasing to see a lot of running off the ball. The first half saw us dominate with great challenges and solid defence. We were unlucky not to score a few times, but our first touch let us down. We need to keep our eyes on the ball and once we control it, we can take more advantage of the opportunities.
At half time we changed our formation to see if we could force some errors and start pressing forward a bit more. MJ and Lars moved up but we were caught out a few times and reverted back to our original format. Once we were back in shape we started to make a few more breaks and again were unlucky not to score. The final 5 minutes was a mad scramble and a shot from Mitch in the box saw a hand ball from a Winston Hills player. Lars stepped up and slotted the winner. Great strike and I bet everyone on our side of the fence were biting their nails !
Lachlan, and Ben had great running games, Andrew, Mitch. Sean, and Josh fought hard in the middle, and never stopped all game. MJ, Ryan M and Sebastian put some great balls through and scrambled well in defence. Ryan R had a great game at the back and challenged for everything, well done Ryan, keep it up. Matt A did fantastic in goals again and really gave us momentum forward with his great kicks. Player of the week was Ryan Manns, he tackled, he ran, he marked up and he also passed the ball well down the wings for our wide game. Ryan has excelled in the back position and was one of our most valuable players this week. Great to see it all happening for you Ryan. Keep going. Unfortunately we were without Ryan Bolgoff who was sick, get better Ryan we need you back on the pitch.
Guys, you have shown that you can beat any team, the next few weeks see us play the top teams, and if you keep bringing that determination, hunger and belief you will all succeed.
Once again thanks to all the parents for turning up and supporting the boys, it is great to see and hear their cheer squad get behind them. Special thanks to our Manager Dave, always has everything organised and makes life easy for all of us.
Go Castlo U12/2 Blacks !

Round 11 Castle Hill Black 1 Defeated Castle Hill White 0
Well done boys, it was a hard fought win after little training, later kick off time and a large field, however only against 9 players.
We had a lot of possession during the game which you would expect, and credit to the other side for their spirit and determination.
We seemed to do all the hard work but could not score until late in the first half when Mitch dribbled the ball across field and put a great ball through for Ben who ran and beat two players for a magical strike into the top left hand corner. Ryan Bolgoff returning from sickness made a great decoy run and tried hard all game, as usual so did Mitch. Top quality football lads !
The second half saw an end to end match and we were lucky to escape after about 10 minutes of mayhem in front of our goals. We must remember safety first, clear the ball at all costs.
Sebastian with an injury was great at the back and stopped any real forward momentum by the opposition, the same with Lars and Ryan M. Andrew had a superb game, challenging for the ball and getting involved in everything, great game mate, especially playing with sickness.
Ryan R and Sean who also has an injury had exceptional games, defending well and tackling. Laclhan did well up front and always looked dangerous against three committed defenders. MJ had a solid game and unfortunately he too nursed an ankle injury and sat out most of the second half. We missed Josh today and his ability to hold the ball as he was away.
A well deserved Player of the week was Matt A, outstanding effort in goals with some fine saves. He has really turned his season around, very dedicated and listens to instructions. Great effort mate, keep up the good work.
Guys, we are now in a critical period of our season, I saw a lot of ball watching today, and we had lapses of concentration in marking and defending. I also saw some great passing and running, and some good work off the ball. Lets get to training now and keep putting in the effort. Remember you only get back what you put in and we need to remain consistent and hungry.
It was great to see you beat another top of the table team, you all should be proud.

North Rocks 3 Defeated Castle Hill 1
A bit flat today boys, against a 10 man opposition currently leading the competition.
We started well, with a great team goal, finished by Lachlan. That put us 1 nil up inside 15 minutes and we had North Rocks on the back foot. However in the last period of the first half we conceded a goal from well outside the box, and seemed to slow down. The opposition scorer should not have had the time or room to shoot, we discussed shutting them down before the game.
There was some good play only to miss some good opportunities with poor first time touches and lack of passing. It ended one all at half time. Unfortunately Ryan R who did a great job one on one marking the oppositions only real threat had to retire due to a knee injury. This gave the opposition player more room in the second half. We conceded another goal against the run of play which made it two one, then picked up slightly pressing forward and had two clear chances to score but missed. The opposition grew in confidence and started pressing us and again from against the run of play scored for their final goal at 3 - 1.
Boys, we need to focus and keep going for the full game not in parts, we need to work on our marking, first touch and passing. First touch is the most important and there were times where we decided to try and dribble the ball through 2 or 3 players, only to loose it at critical times instead of passing.
It would be great to see you all at training, I know it is cold, but we need to keep putting in the effort, and keep the fitness levels up.
Player of the week was Josh Laws for his effort and passing. Josh showed some great touches and has been working on his fitness. Well done mate.
Lets learn from this one and concentrate. Everyone is entitled to an off day here and there, unfortunately ours was against a side that turned up ready to play.

Castle Hill 5 Defeated St Angela's 1
Great game today boys, a fantastic effort, fighting for the ball keeping your positions and thinking about your passing, not just forward but sideways and back.
Sebastian, Ryan M, MJ and Ryan R played well at the back, especially in the second half, good marking and moving to the ball. Lars did well in goals with the absent Matt A enjoying a holiday. Ryan , Josh, Sean, Andrew and Mitch had outstanding games in the midfield and our strikers Ben and Lachlan caused all sorts of trouble for the opposition defence.
We started slow conceding a goal against play, but a great piece of work in midfield and a great strike put us level. A second goal that was a great team effort just before half time put us 2 - 1. In the second half we played our best football to date. Mitch scored a well deserved boomer, an incredible strike. Lachlan scored with a great pressure goal and Ben claimed his third with some lovely play from our midfielders. Ben takes home the match ball with a hatrick.
Player of the week was Andrew, he was in everything today, running, tackling and some good through balls. Congratulations Andrew you are playing very well, keep it up mate.
Guys, we showed today what happens when we don't back off, keep focused and move off the ball for the whole game. The most pleasing aspect was our challenges and our determination to win the ball back. Keep up the good work everyone, a great game to watch with some good individual skills.

Castle Hill 3 Defeated Wentworthville 1
Another win for us on a cold windy Saturday morning. I think the boys were still a little frozen by the time the game started. Again for the first 10 minutes we dominated and pushed forward with some great passing and moving off the ball. A fantastic run by Andrew down the side line and a superb cross saw our first goal by Ben who was in a great position to tap it in. Great work ! If we can keep producing quality soccer like that we will score more goals.
Some great work by Sean, Lars and Mitch saw the ball move forward and then sideways, some nice touches by Lachlan put himself in some room for a shot that hit an opposition player and go in, wrong footing the keeper. 2 - 0.
It looked like we were starting to warm up only to relax and start ball watching and not picking up our man in defence. Wenty went down field and smashed the ball into the net, 2 - 1.
At half time we went back to our normal positions and played some great football, Matt A in goals did not touch the ball once in the 2nd half and we found ourselves camped in the opposition half as they stacked their defence. The pleasing aspect of the second half is that we found our game again and passed back, sideways and not just forward. Ryan M, MJ, Ryan R and Ryan B found some good rhythm and played intelligent football.
Our third goal came from Josh who had the best game so far this year, showing some great touches and dribbling skill, his shot skidded just before the keeper and put us 3 - 1. Sebastian played well at the back scrambling well always moving to the ball first.
Man of the match this week has been a long time coming, Sean was the recipient after some great skill and hard work. Sean always applies himself and is a great example both at training and during the game. Well done mate, great effort, keep it up.
Thanks to Fabian and Sulaiman for taking the boys at training this week, and thanks to all the parents and relatives who braved the cold and supported the boys.
Getting down to the business end of the season now, so keep up the good work and lets see if we can keep our concentration and motivation.

Castle Hill 3 Defeated Guildford 1
Some nice football today and some great individual skills secured another win. With a full team and a good run at indoor soccer through the week, the boys challenged for the ball and marked up well. Some improvement in first time touch and our ability to look up and pass could be better but overall a good performance.
Andrew put in another sterling performance as did Ryan M, Sean, Josh and Lachlan. These boys made life difficult out wide all game, MJ sent some perfect balls through, setting up our goals and Lachlan was unlucky not score when he shot and hit the post. That particular play was a pleasure to watch. slick passing, great running and movement off the ball. Matt A played very well in goals, with a couple of fine saves. Each week Sebastian and Lars continue to amaze me with their running, scrambling and composure on the ball. I want a doctor to check out Mitch to see if he is human, he is a machine that just keeps going. There were many great plays today, but three stick out the most. The first was Ben's finishing and speed, again collecting the match ball with a hat trick. The second was the determination and ability just before half time that saw Ryan Bolgoff run down a certain goal and superbly used his body to slide and take the ball off the opposition player, absolute magic. The third was our defence and the way we challenged, tackled and held our positions. Great stuff boys.
Player of the week was Ryan Ramisch, he was solid in defence, never giving up and stopping any opposition attacks. Ryan has been putting in additional effort of late and it is showing, you are starting to peak at the business end of the season, well done mate. Unfortunately Sean left his trophy at his girlfriends house so Ryan had to make do with a bottle of Powerade for a trophy, I'm sure Sean's girlfriend will send it to training on Tuesday night.
Keep up the momentum and intensity boys.

Castle Hill 2 Defeated Lidcombe 1
Well Boys what can I say ?
This was probably your finest moment so far, the determination, execution and dedication from all of you was outstanding. What we have been doing at training is evident. A credit to you all.
We started a little slow and fought hard for possession, actually dominating for long periods with some unlucky misses at goal. Against the run of play Lidcombe basically walked through some ordinary defence, however we should not have lost the ball in the position we were in. 1 nil to Lidcombe at half time.
In the second half we found another gear, we challenged, tackled and passed Lidcombe out of the match. Two of the best strikes I have seen this year from free kicks, put us 2 - 1. Lars stepped up to the plate and hammered the ball, the keeper did not have a chance. The second strike was too hard to handle and Ben was on the spot to knock it in. Keep that foot on a soft pillow Lars !
A special mention to Ryan Bolgoff, MJ and Sean for their best games so far, they were in everything, from defence to attack. Great performance guys.
Sebastian and Ryan M were safe at the back up against some strong attack, the key was our marking and the great covering defence, taking the ball off Lidcombe and turning this into attack with some wonderful through balls.
Mitch, Ryan R, Josh, Andrew and Lachlan played so well, using our sideways, back and forward passing. Top draw stuff guys.
Matt A in goals played fantastic, coming out off his line and taking the ball at crucial times.
This game was a pleasure to watch, it was exciting, fast and full of great individual skills. I know all parents and supporters enjoyed it, both Dave and myself are proud of all of you, seeing each of you grow both on and off the field. This win puts us into 2nd with two games to go. Lets keep that steel, positive attitude and keep going.
Players Player this week, voted by the players themselves, was Ben. Great effort mate.
Go Castle Hill

Castle Hill 1 Drew Kellyville 1
From our best game to our worst game in one week.
In terrible windy conditions we started well, pressuring the Kellyville defence. An own goal by a great corner from Lars made it 1 nil our way. We had many chances at goal only to shoot high or wide, these misses were crucial in the end. In this first half we should have taken more advantage of the wind but for some reason struggled with any forward movement.
Second half was a dire affair, the ball hardly moved outside our half of the field, The pressure we put on ourselves by just kicking instead of passing finally took its toll when a shot bounced off one of our players for a 1 - 1 all score.
We had 4 clear chances, one on one with the keeper which we failed to turn into goals and those cost us dearly. Today we showed lack of marking, positional play and our worst effort yet of finishing. Guys we cannot go into games thinking they are easy, just because we play a team that is lower on the ladder. You need to turn up to every game. We have some hard games ahead, so hopefully that is the game we needed to get out of our system. Lets put this game behind us and move on ready for the next one.
Players Player this week was Mitch. Never stopped all game, well done mate.

Castle Hill 1 Lost Winston Hills 2
Great game today boys, not the result we wanted but still a great game.
First of all congratulations on a great season, and for reaching the finals. You have all improved over during the year and have become more accomplished players. You should take a moment to congratulate yourselves on a job well done.
The finals start next week, and we can look at this as a new competition, a knock out if you will. We need to put in at training and keep focused so we can bring our best game.
Unfortunately our last game started slowly with some ball watching, flat play and no marking. Once we warmed to the game we started to apply pressure and find some rhythm. We had several opportunities on goal again, only to let them slip away. We played some great football today but were not consistent, and some great passing and running provided a great team goal to make it 1 nil at half time. The second half was a lot better where we controlled the game for long periods only to become a little sloppy in the danger zone about 10 minutes out from full time. After repeated efforts to clear the ball, Winston Hills found room to slot in an equaliser. 1 - 1 all with 5 minutes to go. In the dying seconds, we conceded a corner and Winston Hills hit the ball directly into the goal from the corner without touching anyone, straight after that, full time.
Guys we need to keep focused the full game, we had Winston Hills beat only to relax and fall off challenges. We cannot afford to do this against the top 4 teams.
Players player this week was Sebastian, keep up the good work mate.
Can we all attend training both nights this week as team selections for the finals will be based on attendance and effort.
