Round 3 Rouse Hill 8 - 0 Castle Hill What a disappointing day. Our team definitely did not turn up to play. The boys where on the back foot after the first five minutes which saw us trailing by 2 goals. After that the team automatically gave up and did not fight for one single 50/50 ball. There was no motivation in our play and heads where down. We went to the half time break 6 nil down and the boys where totally dejected. The team received the biggest roasting at half time by the coaches and we had asked the boys to forget the first half and play the second with more enthusiasm and to fight for the ball. To their credit they did. Our opposition only saw 2 goals in the second and we had a couple of chances ourselves. A bad injury to Ryan saw him sit out half of the second half and we will miss him over the next 2 weeks. Rouse Hill seem like they are the benchmark for the div 3 comp and we will need to step up our game if we are to be competitive this year. The coaches and parents believe in you guys but you need to turn up ready to play the full hour every week and fight for that win

Round 4 Castle Hill 1 - 7 St Michaels Baulkham Hills Another dissapointing match. The boys where keen to make up for last weeks disaster and we all thought that they could turn it around after an intense training session on Thursday before the game. It was not to be. The performance from the entire team was unacceptable and if it wasn't for our Keeper Tim, it could have been a whole lot worse. The team does not seem to understand what intensity really means and are too nice on the field. We need to build on confidence. The boys need to turn up every Saturday ready to do battle and not think of what might have been if they had tried harder. The team have the skills and capabilities of giving any team a run for their money but they need to turn up to play.

Round 2 (Make Up Game) Played on Sunday 6th May. OLQP 2 - 6 Castle Hill What a magnificent turn around from a couple of vary bad losses over the past few weeks. We hade just enough to field a full team and OLQP where at full strength. OLQP drew 3 all the day before against the comp leaders Rouse Hill who we lost to quite badly the week before. A couple of positional changers made a big difference but the intensity that was lacking in past games made a return in a big way. The team was brilliant today and performed with strength and determination. We went to the break 3 nil up and the boys really wanted to finish off with a solid 2nd half. The team continued with another early second half goal but OLQP hit back with one of their own. The contest became tougher as the second half continued and OLQP where keen to make a real game of it. They tried to break us in the Midfield but had no chance of doing it as the boys remained composed and strong in their play. There was a period of about 10 minutes that our team lacked concentration in but they finished the game off quite hard in the last ten minutes. A very good win and one that we can build on. Well done to the team and thanks to all the parents for the Early attendance on Sunday Morning.

Round 5 CHUFC (Blacks) 2 - 0 CHUFC (Whites) The anticipated local grudge match was upon us. Our two div 3 teams where keen to get the inter-club match underway and this was always going to be a tough match for our team. Our CASTLE HILL CLUB sees the black as being our C team but we had other ideas and wanted to prove a point of our own. The game was very competitive and a big thankyou goes out to the 2 players from the U11/3 that helped us to field a full team. The blacks started out like a house on fire and scored 2 simple goals in the first half but our boys held strong and fought on. The second half was more feisty and a couple of the blacks players became frustrated with how our team shut them down. These players started to sledge our players with several rude and offensive comments throughout the half which showed bad sportsmanship, but our boys played on with integrity and honor and the other team where unable to score at all in the second half. We had several chances ourselves but could not capitalize on our opportunities. This result did not reflect the summary of the match and it was alot closer than what the score was. The sledging that our white team had to endure was very disappointing for 2 teams that play for the same club. I am proud to say that our boys showed true Character and can hold their heads up high. Even though we lost this match we where the better team in all aspects of the game we call football. Well done team . You should be proud.

Hey Offside, I have experienced the same unsportsman like vulgarities when my boy played for a club 2 years ago with a div1 Black and White. Its sickening! You should confront the coach of the Blacks and have those responsible face your team at a training night apolagise for their unacceptable behavour and be witnessed my Mick to make sure that does not happen on the field again against your team or any other. Just suggestin

Round 6 Castle Hill 0 - 4 Lidcombe This match was against the leaders of our competition and it was always going to be a tough ask. Our boys performed quite well in the first half and at 2 nil down and several near misses on the oppositions goal, it was still game on. At one stage our attack was looking really great but those goals never came as our finish just wasn't quite there. The second half was a little more difficult to watch as all the boys fell asleep. Challenges where non existent and we gave up too many balls and that enabled Lidcombe free play with the ball. All of Lidcombes goals where short range tap ins and could have been prevented with simple strong last line defense. Football is a game of 2 halves and we need to play both halves equally. Improvement to our team is slow but we will get the results with commitment throughout the 1 hour of play every week. Heads up boys, a little confidence will go a long way and we will succeed and move up that standings.

Round 7 Merrylands 1 - 0 Castlehill
The year is becoming a very difficult one for us. We seem to always be down one or two players for every match we play. The lack of player numbers has taken its toll on our team. We played a spirited first half against the lowly ranked Merrylands which had not won a game this year. The boys fought on well but it was quite noticeable that we where missing that extra player. 1 Striker up front was never going to do it and we had a massive mountain to climb if we had any chance. The second half became a real nightmare as Ryan came off with a back injury and that put us down 2 men on the field. Merrylands capitalized on our bad luck and scored in the second handing them the victory. The boys dropped their intensity in the second but a spirited fight never the less. Luck was not on our side as several calls went against us. Offsides in our own half, fouls against our players that where left alone and biased calls against us did not help. We new that the game was gone at half time when the Official Ref from Granville was high fiveing the Merrylands players at half time. Not a good look. Lets put another bad week behind and start again this week. Hopefully we will have a full team for the next round. Fingers crossed.
