13 Div2. Won 3-0 against Pendle Hill. The game was closer than what the score line suggests. The boys put in a big effort today despite some with injuries and having no subs. There was great passing play that lead to the 3 goals and started to play with more confidence as the match went on. Todays win is a great start to the season and a good base to build from. ðŸ‘âš½

13/2 v Greystanes 28/04/12 1 all draw We took the lead with a long high ball that went over the keeper and into the net. Apart from this goal there were very few highlights from the game as there was no intensity and enthusiasm from many players and were just ball watching. Quite often possession was given up too easily and then having to chase back and defend against a very fast Greystanes attack too many times. The Greystanes goal came from a penalty just outside our box. There were missed opportunities from good crosses across goal and players trying to walk the ball into the goal. Happy to take the draw as Greystanes the better team by far today.

13/2 v Baulkham Hills 29/04/12 Won 6-1 A far better game and much improved effort from the team overall. We were expecting a tough challenge against Baulko but our boys kept shutting them down in defense. Our centre midfielders dominated play through the centre of the field and created many oportunities for our strikers. Nathan was the main play maker in this role and worked tirelessly for the team. Another mention has to go to Adrian in defense who gave the Baulko attackers nothing but headaches and regained possession many times. Lachie and Conner worked well together up front and saw some real enthusiasm in their attacks. It will be good to see this teams confidence build and continue to construct some good football like we saw today.

13/2 v Ermington United Won 5-2 A very ordinary start to the game in the first half with no real commitment and a lack of structure saw Ermington take advantage of some poor defence in the goal area to go one goal up. Not long after Bailey took a shot on goal outside the Ermington penalty area that went over the keepers reach to even the score at 1 all at half time. Coach Steve gave the boys a much needed dressing down and reinforced what the team had been training on during the week. A much improved and committed CHU took the field in the second half and almost immediately were rewarded with goals that came from smarter play through the team. Special mention to Nick who worked tirelessly all game out on the right midfield. A good win and hopefully next game the team will fire from the first whistle.

It looks as though the boys are starting to gel and settle into their positions as they get more games under their belts. Your right about the team having a slow start to their games and would like to see them fire into action right from the start. I look forward to seeing the clash of the Titans this weekend with us and Wenty Waratah tied at the top of the table. Get those boys fired up for a big game come Saturday. Go Caso!

13/2 v Wenty Waratah Won 1-0 What a great tussle of a game it was out there with both teams determined as one another to take the win and outright top spot on the competition table. There were the initial concerns with Wenty coach taking on the referee role in the absence of an official but didn't do too bad a job in the end. Mitch stepped up to fill in for keeper with Anthony out with an injured hand. The play went from end to end with both teams creating excitement with chances on goal from our attack but narrowly missing the target on goal and some great solid defense shutting down the Wenty attacks. The game remained scoreless until the second last minute of the game when Lachie scrambled around a defender and keeper to finally put a goal in for the relentless CHU team and had all us parent cheer squad erupt with screams of celebration. 😃👠Well done boys, keep improving, keep motivated and keep up the momentum.

Well done! I guess there's no stopping them now with that confidence in the team building with every win. I heard the training is going well and reflecting on the field with these results.

13/2 v North Rocks Won 4-1 Another slow start from the CHU boys which seems to be the norm every week. We got punished by a determined Rocks taking advantage of CHU's mistake in the goal area faffing around with the ball and conceding an early goal to North Rocks. We replied with a scrappy goal and took us to half time 1 all. The boys started a much better 2nd half with more determination and dominating play across the field. Conner headed a great ball into the back of the net from a corner and things kept improving throughout the half with another couple of goals. Its frustrating seeing unnecessary goals given away from alack of enthusiasm amongst the team at the start of the game and hope this doesn't end up contributing to a loss during the season.

13/2 v Wentworthville Uniting Church Won 3-1 What a great comeback from a disappointing performance last week that saw the team conceive their first loss for the season unnecessarily to Auburn FC. Today the boys played as a team and showed more enthusiasm and played most of the game in WUC half with good structured play and peppering their goal with several going over the top bar going for the 'Big Kahoona' shot. It was also a nice change to have a volunteer referee from the opposition who did an outstanding job calling a fair game and had a thorough understanding of the rules. Let's see if the boys can carry this good form through the second half of the season and keep us parents entertained with more of that top class Football. Go Caso!

13/2 v Rydalmere Won 6-0 We were always going to win this match against Rydalmere but by how much depended on how the boys played as a team. As the score line shows, the boys played a well structured game and holding possession, switching play, passing back and more communication amongst the team. There is still plenty of room for improvement, but the weekends performance shows the team is heading in the right direction, and not just on the competition ladder. ps. Thanks Fred for filling in on the report as I wasn't at the game. Go Caso!

13/2 v Baulkham Hills 2 all Draw It was the typical slow sluggish start for CHU and didn't start playing reasonable football until late in the second half. We had many chances to put points on the board but indecisions and too many touches of the ball kept us scoreless in the first half. Second half was promising as the boys started to knock the ball around and connect some good ball play which resulted in a good goal that started from a great through ball to Nathan who ran it down the right hand side before crossing it in to Lachlan who put the ball in the net to take us 1 nil. The second came from a big ball from Ryan on the right edge of the goal area to put it in goal over the keepers reach. Up until now we were looking strong and had the majority of play. This is when it all went wrong. Baulkham Hills got a sniff with a brake down in our play and started penetrating our defense with our back line out of position and not marking the attackers. It took a situation of chaos in our goal mouth for Baulko to put through a scrappy goal. This was enough to give them the hope they needed and came at us with renewed enthusiasm and before long they put another goal in after another break down in our chaotic defense with only minutes to go. This was a game CHU let slip from their grasp and should have secured the win. We are the team that other clubs are trying to knock off the top of the table, and if the boys continue not to put in the effort and show enthusiasm into every game, we could very well see ourselves slipping down the competition table. Let's turn it around Casto get the results we are capable of.

13/2 v Greystanes Won 7-2 It was an interesting game against Greystanes and although we walked away with a big win there is still plenty of room for improvement. A Greystanes player was red carded in the first half who swore at the referee and should now learn there is no tolerance for that behavior in our game. Our boys played well for most part of the half controlling the ball and applying pressure in Stanes half most of the game. There was a careless tackle from behind that saw Stanes get 1 of their 2 goals for the game as a result from this penalty. 5-2 at half time. A couple of positional changes gave players a run where they wouldn't normally. I lost count of how many off sides there were against us and especially in the second half, at least a dozen in total, which cost us many chances of putting more points on the board. More enthusiasm and less ball watching will go along way to improving good team results. Keep on improving boys and stay focused on where you boys want to be placed on the competition table at the end of the season. C'mon Casto!!!

13/2 v Pendle Hill Won 2 - 0 What a great win it was against Pendle Hill, and it wasn't just the fact we won the game, it was in the way we played the game. The whole team played as a unit rather than separate individuals trying to get through the opposition. Every player in the team gave a much improved effort and put on a good spectacle of football which was fantastic to watch from the sidelines with all the proud supporting parents. ;D Our opponents also played a good game of football and Pendle Hill never gave up the fight and continued to put the pressure on all the way up to the final whistle. Our defence was solid, the mid fielders worked tirelessly throughout the game and the strikers broke through the the defence many times. The second goal put the sealer on what was probably the best performance of the team so far this season with Nathan getting a through ball heading out the right side, side stepping the defender before crossing the ball up over the crowded goal mouth to a well timed header from Josh running in on the far post into the net. WOW! ;D Can't wait to see what the team bring to the next game, hope it's more of that top grade football stuff.

13/2 v Ermington United Won 5-0 A surprisingly big win over a team that puts up a good tough game of football and have some quality players including 2 girls that outplay and out muscle the boys. CHU got into the game earlier and kept control of the game the majority of the match. All round there were good performances, but the defence can take credit for a decisive win as there were many attacks from a strong attacker from Ermington who was continually defused and regained possession to move back on the offensive. The star performer back there would have to be Cameron who read the play well to regain possession and feed the ball back to the midfield and muscled up heading the ball back up field on the full. Another good win for a good performance. Lets keep it going boys.
